Disclaimer

I want to start off by saying that the Lakers win tonight at home against the Celtics was underwhelming. Everything Jeff Van Gundy and Marc Jackson were saying at the end of the broadcast was spot on. The Lakers defense played soft at times, and letting Eddie House shoot open jumpers in the corner at the end is ridiculous. On top of that, Kobe definitely did not play like an MVP throughout the game.

After game 4

The fact that Kobe was the leader of a team that experienced the biggest collapse of all-time led me to say that you could no longer compare Kobe to Jordan (EVER, and I hate Jordan). Michael would have never let his team fall apart, at home, in such a big spot.

That being said

The steal that Kobe Bryant made at the end of the game (although some can argue it was a foul and that Kobe didn’t really get much ball at all) has the potential to be a legendary play. If some how, SOME WAY, the Lakers manage to take the next two games and steal this NBA championship that play will be the epitome of Kobe’s legacy (for the time being). It was a prime time spot, and against a prime time player (Paul Pierce). That play essentially sealed the game, and potentially changed the course of NBA history. Then again, the Lakers have a long way to go…
