I really like this since T-Mobile isn’t supported on Facebook, the only thing I don’t like is everytime I update it says that I’m “twittering.”

  2. Stuart Robertson Says:

Some people (like me) are having trouble getting the Twitter app to install / work properly.

Here’s another way to keep Facebook and Twitter in synch. Post to Facebook and use the Twitterbook script to send your status to Twitter.

Unfortunately, since I tweet kind of often, everybody on facebook was getting my twitter on their news feed or something and people started telling me it was annoying. I had to take it down. (And they said this even when I had the newsfeed box unchecked!) Obviously, they could have set their facebook to not show updates from me, but these are the kind of people who don’t understand the internet and don’t know what twitter is. They send FB applications out like crazy, which I feel like is worse.

    :(

I’m all about this Twitter app. I’m not big on many Facebook apps since they started spreading like some cracked out wildfire a while back, but this one is clean and functional. Plus, it combines two social networking sites in a good way. Good post.

@Alana Taylor I discovered that a tweet that starts with a reply via @ does not show up as a status on Facebook. Using this hack, I’ve been able to not over post to my Facebook status. I also worry that my non techie friends will get annoyed with my high Twitter use. Also, I’m assuming that the @ stops my tweets from showing up on other peoples news feeds, since they are not showing up on my status update feed.

Thanks for this. Exactly what I was looking for. And its so easy :-)

    @alanataylor

lol, i sense some sort of resentment vs facebook mainstream users..

look at the good side… at least “something” good must come out of a huge db of data with an api, right ???

  12. dekaru Says:

did you mean “sync” or just update in facebook ?

  13. Anna Says:

Looks like the process has changed a bit since the “new” Facebook…

  26. Brian Kendig Says:

How do you get around the problem where Twitter generally expects complete sentences, while Facebook wants you to complete the sentence “Yourname is …”? Whatever you type will look weird either on Facebook or on Twitter…

  27. faii Says:

    @Alana,

how about try this Selective Twitter App for Facebook: http://apps.facebook.com/selectivetwitter/

  30. Robin Says:

@faii is there something like that for Facebook photo-links to Twitter as well? Add ‘#’ to your photo’s description, and get a Twitter update with link to your Facebook photopage? Very much the way autopostr.com does that for your Flickr photos.

  31. Debra Says:

Thanks for posting! Big help for a Twitter newbie.

  32. Rebbie Macintyre Says:

    Great article. Thanks.

  33. Eric Says:

I would like it if my facebook posts could sync with twitter, too. Maybe I need to just start using this and only post to one place: twitter.

  34. Carolyn Hamilton Proctor Says:

Your instructions were super simple to follow. I’m a bit concerned about other posts where people are having problems with this. Guess you have to just get out there, do it, and see if it works.

  35. Bastian Says:

It works OK and it is certainly something useful.

  36. makda Says:

was the twitter application in facebook written by twitter or by some other third party developer?

  37. james Says:

    Thank you!

  38. Ben Says:

Many thanks. Clever bit of marketing as well!

  39. jnorms Says:

  41. Martin Gonzalez Says:

    its work for me - thank’s :D

  42. Natalie Dreher Says:

Thank you - this is exactly what I was looking for!

  43. Chris Prakoso Says:

Despite the fact that this could be useful for occasional use, I really urge all of you to use this feature with care consideration. Cross-posting can be good if the content is appropriate ‘accross’ all services. But if you use this blindly, it’s just going to annoy your followers/friends, at best.

    Please don’t abuse it.

  44. Edward Says:

Worked perfectly for me. Many thanks for the clear post.

  45. Stacy W Says:

Thanks! Now only if you included a tutorial to link facebook to mobile. The mobile2twitter was smooth, but facebook is a little bit complicated.

  46. Smumdax Says:

Let’s see… I’ve got a PHP script that can send to Twitter… if I then add #fb at the end, then it looks like I could post from a PHP script directly to Twitter and that would be picked up on Facebook with this app… Very interesting!

  47. Robo Says:

Thanks for the info. I’ve already twithis in twitter.
    Cheers!

  48. Maxwell Bennett Says:

This was helpful thank you. Although it was helpful I fine it hard to trust people that leave out cost? Is there a cost or not?

  49. Jennifer Says:

Thank you for this - it’s great info and got me to where I needed to be on Fbook via the Search, but Fbook has since updated the process and you could benefit from updating your page - many people still need the info and may not be able to follow it themselves. Good luck to you! JJ

    Hi,

I have installed the twitter application on facebook but how do I know it really works?

When I go to my twitter page and click on my updates, I only see the ones that I posted directly to Twitter and not the ones from facebook. And how does twitter handle updates on fb that are longer than 140 characters? Any ideas?

    Robin

  55. David Says:

But is there a way to do it the other way around? I use my facebook more than my twitter, so I would rather update my facebook status and have it post to twitter than to update my twitter and have it post to facebook. Any ideas on this?

  56. Kent Says:

    Thanks for this tip.

  59. melorra Says:

hi, i think this is fabulous and it worked perfectly. BUT, i use facebook much more. i’m looking for something that will update FROM my facebook status TO my twitter. is this possible and how can i do it? did i miss the instructions?

    thanks so much!

help me.i can’t open twiiter application on my facebook. i’ve tried to click twitter application on my facebook, but it can’t opened. hows the solution bro? thanks for your answer. send to my email.

  61. Brasiano Says:

For some reason at step 3 it says Go to application instead of Add Application. Another option underneath the Go to application button says add to my page. When I click on that there is a small popup window which says; select which page you want to add Twitter to. But there are no pages I can choose from.
    What am I doing wrong?

  62. Serola Says:

This does not work for me on Firefox and Opera browsers. Add to my page gives “No results” and go to application gives empty page on Facebook.

  63. Gaurav Sharma Says:

Thank you so much for this wonderful post. It is really very helpful. I will be following you on twitter.

  65. Matt Browne Says:

There is also an app on Facebook called Selective Twitter Status that allows you to post Tweets tagged with #fb, so your Facebook friends don’t get too burned out from your tweets:
