How Can I Improve My Tweets?
Quick question for anyone who follows me on Twitter and / or reads my blog:
How can I improve?
From looking through my twitter archive I noticed a few trends: I rarely use the @reply feature (I’d rather use Direct Messages), I post about a link a day, and I often ask questions of my followers.
How can I improve? Am I lacking in certain areas? Am I doing too much in others? Let me know either in the comments or via twitter (although I prefer the comments section since it will keep every suggestion in one spot)

You seem to be doing just fine!
I like your Twitter style because it is focused on your audience.
All success

Twitter asks: “What are you doing?” Once and a while, consider answering that question, instead of just linking and/or polling. That would be my suggestion.

Twitter is what you make it. It’s a personal choice in how you decide to use it. As long as you are having fun with it and enjoying interacting with people on it, why should you have to change anything? There is no right or wrong way to use it.

You should Tweet about me more often. Guaranteed conversation starter! @dalecruse

If anything, I would agree with Colin, share a bit more about you personally. If that isn’t the ‘AJ’ thing to do, keep what you are doing! We follow you so must not be too bad!!

You should talk about BurnOut TV more man! That’s where it’s at!

I am not a huge fan of the questions

My suggestion would be to balance your Follower-Following ratio a bit. I realize following 1000+ people is not very practical, but you can probably do better than 16%. It’s bad karma

It would be nice to see you @reply more often. DM’s are good for stuff you wish to remain private but you remove the chance fo rus to benefit from your conversation…Twitter’s main purpose. You want to improve but at a 1:10 follow ratio, it begs the question of how much you want to get out of Twitter as opposed to use it as a platform. I’m not trying to be harsh and don’t get me wrong, you have a lot to offer and I get value out of following you. I have found great reward in doing a quick eval of as many folks on Twitter as feasible. (of all that follow me and many in the conversations on my stream) By doing that you can really craft an amazing stream….and don’t be afraid to unfollow those who detract. Good Luck and keep it up.

I’m with Colin. Just answer the question “what are you doing?”
Twitter for me is that even deeper peek into the personality of the person behind the account.
So… don’t feel like you have to impart a certain level of wisdom on Twitter. Just be yourself. That’s why people subscribe. To just see you.

I like the way you Twitter. Your tweets grab my attention because they make me think, so then I end up coming to your site to read your blog and get your insight.
