There is a new web 2.0 meme going around - shaving your head for charity.

It all started when Gary Vaynerchuk shaved his head and said he would donate $300 to charity if Kevin Rose would shave his head.

Kevin did it.

Then Kevin said he would donate $500 if me and Mark Trammell “shaved” our heads.

We did it. Eddie Codel did it too. Apparently Kent Nichols from ask a ninja manned up to Kevin’s challenge.

So far $1100 has been raised to charity, and I think there is more to come!

Big week for my brother Gary Vaynerchuk

Yesterday my brother appeared on Late Night with Conan O’brien

Today my brother’s first book, Gary Vaynerchuk’s 101 Wines Guaranteed to Inspire, Delight, and Bring Thunder to Your World came out.

Later tonight my brother will be appearing on Mad Money with Jim Cramer. Be sure to check it out on CNBC at 6pm and 11pm.

Again, later tonight my brother will be doing his first book signing in New York City at the Borders on Park Ave. That will be from 7-9pm.

Go Gary, you are the best brother and I, along with everyone else is so proud of you!

Okay, so you are probably asking the question, “What is Good People Day 2008?”

Gary Vaynerchuk, my brother and creator of Good People Day 2008, describes it as this:

“I want to try to get the WHOLE INTERNET Community behind this mission. I have to make sure that tomorrow people write and talk and blog and twitter and just flat out SING about people that are AWESOME and GOOD.”

Get it? Got it? Good. Tomorrow is GPD08, and I expect all of you to sing and praise every good person you know!

As previously written, my brother Gary Vaynerchuk appeared on Late Night With Conan O’brien! The skit went awesome, and it was an amazing experience just to be there and share that moment with my family.

Wine Critic, not the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of my brother Gary Vaynerchuk. When you hear the words wine critic, you think of older snobby rich gentlemen.

Does this look like an older, snobby, rich gentleman?

Didn’t think so. In fact, I don’t even know if Gary falls into a category. Unless there is a category for “Ridiculously entertaining video blogging geniuses who work 24/7 and love every minute of it.” Even then I am not sure that truly describes Gary. He is more than what I am saying, and if you watch Wine Library TV, you know what I am getting at.

Just now, as I am writing this blog post I am coming to the realization that it is tough to describe Gary in words, I guess that is why he is a video blogger. I guess that is why the description for tonight’s show says “wine critic,” even Conan didn’t know how to describe him!
