Third Step: Search For Groups

Once in the groups page of Facebook, you should now search for a group dedicated to or revolving around your niche. The group search is located in the top right of the page near/below the logout button. For the example I am going to search a specific type of urban clothing, Bathing Ape.

Fourth Step: Finding the best group for you

Here is one of the most important steps to the entire process! Be sure to only sign up for groups with under 1,000 current members. If you fail to follow this instruction, the whole process is ruined. During my search I found a great group dedicated to Bathing Ape clothing, but it had 2,400 members. Another important aspect of finding the group for you is group activity. If a group has a lot of members, but nothing is going on, then it isn't the right group for you. After spending a good 30 seconds finding the right group for my niche, Bathing Ape clothing, I found a group called "A Bathing Ape*" that had 580 members and some recent activity (including some new member joining)

Fifth Step: Join the group and participate

You should join the group of your liking and immediately participate within the group. Check out the photos section and add a photo or two that is relevant to the group. Next head over to the discussion board and answer some questions and possibly start a interesting topic or two. After that go on to the group wall and jump right into the conversation; if nothing is being discussed, throw something out there for fun.

Sixth Step: Find the creator/admin

Here is where you start to get your reward for the little time spent working at this. Locate the creator of the group on the right hand side of the group profile page. Typically you can find him/her at the bottom of all the right-hand sidebar information.

Seventh Step: Send the creator a message

This is the most important step to actually getting results! You will send the admin a message about your website/product. Within this message you can only type so much. There are a lot of ways you can write this message and have it go wrong; there are also a lot of ways you can write this message and have it go right - I will be covering that in my next article!

The easiest way to do this important step is to give a simple subject heading and within the body tell the admin you found them through their group, that you love their group, and that you think everyone in his/her group should see this interesting story/website/or product (that being a link for you of course!) Ask the admin to send a message directly to all of his/her members, this provides you with the most results. If what you are presenting the admin is interesting, more often than not they will send the message to their group with a positive spin towards your link. Just like anything else, if you are product isn't noteworthy, helpful, or amazing, you will not see results.
