A Fun Weekend

After work on Friday a lot of people from Revision3 went out to a bar to simply hang out. It was nice to see the “team comrade re” - the culture at revision3 continues to impress me.

After work I met up with my good friend Rob Sandie for dinner. Along with Rob I got to meet his friends Eric and Phil, along with Phil’s girlfriend Kaitlyn.

That night, I went up to Clear Lake with Rob and crew to hang out at Rob’s family lake house where we spent the night as well as Saturday morning.

Tubing and Jetsking rocked.

Last night I went out to dinner with Kelly Sutton, Chris Lesinski, and Jeff Hodsdon. We went to the Little Chihuahua as per Maurcio Balvanera. The food was GREAT!

After dinner we made our way to Aubrey’s birthday party. That whole night from that point on way an absolute blast.

This morning I had breakfast with Kevin Rose. We ate at a cool spot, but I forget what it’s called :-/

After breakfast I met up with Joe Stump and Jeff Hodsdon to brainstorm / hack at Maxfield’s. We got some cool stuff in the works, so look out for that!

Tonight I’m catching up on some sleep, doing some laundry, and watching the Lakers game.

Nothing too crazy, but I felt as if I should post a quick little update!

Revision3 vs. Digg Dodgeball Video Footage

The outcome

Yesterday Revision3 faced Digg in Dodgeball in an epic battle. The results? Revision3 destroyed Digg! 5 games to 1 (and the one game Digg won was complete nonsense since there was a catch involved that was not counted and thus completely changed the course of the entire game)

Day 10

Shifting Couches

Today marks my last day at my good friend Richard Crowley’s. Starting tonight, I will be crashing with another great friend, Aubrey Sabala.

About Aubrey

Taken from her personal blog Aubrey Sabala Dot Com: “Aubrey Sabala is a writer living in San Francisco, learning the lay (and ways) of the hilliest place imaginable. She misses her big three-bedroom home in Atlanta, her friends there, the climate but not her crack smoking next-door neighbors. An only child, you’ll either nod your head in easy recognition or be surprised by this revelation; each reaction is as common as the other.”

Meetings

Today I participated in a meeting with Ron, Stephanie, and Tyler and I know it’s because I never worked at a company where I would go to meetings, but meetings are awesome! I am sure once that becomes a daily practice I’ll get sick of them, but for the time being I love getting emails telling me about upcoming meetings.

Lunch

Went to a great sushi place for lunch today with a bunch of the interns, Mauricio, and Jeff Hodsdon from Digg. So far I am loving the food in San Francisco. My last three meals have been Korean BBQ, Burritos, and Sushi… perfect.

Dodgeball

Today is a much anticipated Revision3 vs. Digg dodgeball game. Playing with everyone was super fun, but I feel bad because I am quite intense when it comes to competition. I’m sure I have turned some people off over at Digg (and maybe at Revision3!). Either way it was a great time, and I am proud to say that Revision3 creamed Digg (although a lot of memebers from both teams were missing today).

Excited for tomorrow

Tomorrow should be a great day. First, my boy Damon Berger will finally be coming back to the office after his long business trip. I am also super excited to see my good friend Rob Sandie who is coming into San Francisco for a bit.

Review: Facebook Chat on Adium

Adium now supports Facebook Chat

Background

Yesterday Adium released a beta version of their program that supported Facebook Chat. As one would assume Adium now allows you to log into your Facebook profile and chat with your friends without ever entering a browser.

Does it work?

Sure does! Adium did a wonderful job seamlessly adding in Facebook chat. I have the instant messenger service set up for aol instant messenger, gchat, and now Facebook Chat.

Problems

Running Adium with Facebook Chat enabled makes browsing Facebook a terrible experience. Every page you attempt to visit requires a log in. Every step you take is accompanied by yet another prompt to log-in. It is basically a see-saw effect of you logging out of Adium, and then in turn Facebook. One has to wonder if Facebook built the platform like this intentionally to stop companies such as Adium from building this type of application.

What do you think?

Do you like having Facebook Chat within Adium? Have you experienced the continual log outs? Do you think Facebook did this on purpose?

Dinner

Had the pleasure of grabbing dinner with my good friend Jessica Mah. What did we eat? Korean BBQ. Was quite the experience. We ordered the “for 2,” which gave us raw chicken and beef. It was up to us (read: Jessica) to cook the food on the mini charcoal grill provided to us. It was definitely an experience! Me and Jessica discussed all sorts of things including the obvious topics such as business and social media.
